A little audience participation, please...

We have a hard decision to make. We've left visiting Uluru (Ayer's Rock) until the last moment, and it wasn't such a smart move. It costs a lot to get there from Brisbane. So we are on the horns of a dilemma: Do we go there, and blow the Australian budget by about 2000 euros, or do we let it go and leave Australia without having seen one of its most iconic sights?

There's a survey gadget on the right of this blog, so feel free to vote. In the end, we'll make up our own minds, but we'll take on board your advice. If you have detailed comments to make, rather than just a vote, feel free to attach them to this post.

Please be aware that if you vote 'yes', and we become destitute as a result, you may have to give us food and shelter on our return.

B L O W T H E B U D G E T !!

You'll regret not going - I'll make sure of it :) And I'll happily host the destitute family. Hey if you ask really nicely you can come over and see a slide show from my trip there to convince you. Not sure why I didn't think of that while you were here. That's right, I was in Melbourne most of the time.

Now I just need to work out how to vote multiple times.

You know it makes sense. If not dollars nor Euros (or Euro if you insist).

You have to go man, it's a spiritual thing! - you'll regret if u don't. Don't say things like blowing the budget say things like: reallocting funds, can you busk for chris sake!

Andrew, if you ever heard me sing, you would realise how valuable Duncan's (ds99) offer to host us is.

Go! But make sure you climb it. They'll try to convince you to just walk around it, but definitely climb it! And stay the next morning to watch the sunrise over the olgas.

Ah - to climb or not. That is a whole other question. Perhaps a whole other survey. Is it doable with an 8-year-old and a 6-year-old?

oh absolutely - we took our niece when she was four years old and worried that she'd tire and one of us would have to carry her. Instead, she just about ran the whole way, and while we were struggling up parts she was way ahead turning around saying, "hurry up slow pokes!"
